About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I´m flying LA- Shanghai and taking a cruise the next day I arrive,

hi!!
then I´m returning to Shanghai for 1 day and leaving on a flight to HK.
From HK back to Shanghai for one night and taking another flight to bangkok....
I have a mexican passport and my husband an american passport, do we need a tourist visa o we are eligible for the 72 hour free transit in SHANGHAI?

Johanna, if the cruise will go to a third country or region rather than LA, you can enjoy the 24 hour direct transit for one day stay in Shanghai.
When you return to Shanghai from HK, you can also enjoy the 24 hour direct transit.
In this case, you don’t need to apply for a tourist L type entry permit in advance.
