Hi,I am an Australian passport holder currently travelling through Japan. My next stop is to China for a 1 week holiday. I would like to know the following please:1. what is the usual processing time for a tourist L type from date of request to date of pickup for the tokyo embassy and osaka consular?3. What is the cost for the usual tourist L type for an australian and what is the extra cost for express processing?Thanks in advance!Simon

Hi Simon!1. The usual processing time is four working days from the date of request.2. You should now apply from the CVASC office. The usual cost is 9,000 yen. If you use express service, the cost is 15,000 yen. If you use the rush service, the cost is 18,000 yen.

Hi everyone,Just an update. Applied for visa in Osaka. there is now a dedicated china visa office not far from the consulate which you can find details on the consulate website. Visa applications are no longer applied for at the consulate.I applied with all standard documentation for tourist visa including air ticket, hotel bookings (i intend to cancel as it was only for the visa application), photocopy of passport, photocopy of id with address back home (drivers license), photocopy of japan tourist visa.Visa application process was very friendly with the dedicated office and staff were very willing to help. Photocopy machine and forms available at the office.Visa application processing time was 3 days including day of application. Ready for pick up on 4th day. This is noting i applied 9am.Cost 9400 yen for standard tourist visa.Good luck people and thanks for your help.
