SFO - WUH (Wuhan) - CAN (Guangzhou) - DEL with flight # CZ660 - Transit Visa

I am US Citizen traveling from SFO - WUH (Wuhan) - CAN (Guangzhou) - DEL with flight # CZ660. Layover is about 9 hr 5 minutes. Do I need to apply for transit entry permit in advance? I am not leaving air port terminal but I am transiting two cities in PRC? Thank you.

Pkum, you don’t need to apply for it in advance because you are able to enjoy the 24 hour direct transit if you travel like that.

Thank you. Somehow when I called a China southern airlines office in US, I was told that I should get advance transits visa since there are two cities involved. I got confuse after that. I booked via china southern airlines website and it gave me a message that "72-hour visa-free do not apply to this booking." But there was nothing for 24 hour visa. Is there any specific catch or fine print that may require me to get advance transit visa? Any further clarification will be helpful. Thanks again.

Maybe you can find the relevant information about the 24 hour direct transit at the TIMATIC data base.
