About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Do I need some type of registration?

After have done the transit permit at the airport you wrote that the "registration" is done when checked into a hotel. I'm traveling from Sweden to Australia via Beijing and is planning on visiting Beijing for 10 hours on my stopover. Do I need to "register" somewhere since I wont be checking into a hotel?

Manny, if so, you don’t need to register. You can just apply for a temporary stay permit at the airport and then go to the city for a visit.
