About:Chinese Embassy in U.K.

My work permit is being sent to me this week from China.

Can I obtain the visa required from the Centre in Edinburgh or do you have to go to London?

It depends on your living area. If the area you live belongs to the consular district of the CVASC in Edinburgh, you should apply from there. Otherwise, you should apply from London.
