marriagepermit in china

Question

Hi, I want to get married to my long time Chinese girlfriend in China but i have tourist/business visa.Do i need to go back to my country after marriage to apply for resident permit before i can stay longer in China or can i apply for other permit wile in China after married without having to go back and apply from my country? My current visa is 30 days entry. Please advise.

Kelly, you can get married with Chinese in PRC on a tourist L type and after getting married, you can convert the tourist L type to a family Q type within PRC without leaving China
