About:FAQ of Chinese Visa Application

do we need a visa to stay for 22 hrs?

My family are going to the Philippines for a vacation, we are US citizen. Going back to US we are stoping at Beijing, China for 22 hrs. Can we leave the airport and get a hotel while waiting for our flight going back to US without a visa?

Yes, you can. You just need to apply for a temporary stay permit at the immigration counter upon arrival.
