About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

My boyfriend is a student and I would like to visit him

To whom it may concern
My boyfriend is studying in China and will graduate next year in July. I am from Mongolia currently residing in USA, NewJersey. We have a daughter, she is almost one month old. To visit my boyfriend, me and my daughter, do we need to apply for visa prior entering China. If so, what type should we apply. Is it Q1 ? And is it okay if we dont have marriage certificate.

If you two haven’t got married, I think you can only apply for a tourist L type to enter PRC to visit your boyfriend.
