About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

In and out of China twice

I am traveling to Chengdu from London then within 72 hours flying down to Hanoi, Vietnam then about 16 days later flying back into Chengdu from Hanoi and within 72 hours flying back to London

Can I use a 72 hour visa for the two trips to Chengdu

If so, you can use the 72 hour free transit for both stops in Chengdu. Nice trip!

Jed, that would be allowed as long as Shanghai is the only stops in China. You are allowed one stop in each direction. As soon as you leave China for country B you are free to go back through china again to country A

Try to Google Shanghai Immigration's English website or just call them.
