About:China Family Reunion Visa

What documents do I need when applying for Q2 visa?

Hello, My husband is Chinese and we are planning to go back to his hometown for Spring festival. I am a little confused on what documents I need to apply for as my husband and I are both living in Singapore. Am I able to use an invitation letter from him and his documents along with our marriage certificate, or do I need to have one of his family members send me their information? I had an M type entry permit before but lost my passport and needed to apply for a new one, do I also need to provide proof of my previous passport, considering on our marriage certificate(Chinese certificate) it has my old passport number? Thank you!

Hi Samantha,

Send me a message to chinvance at gmail dot com and I'll share a sample of the invitation letter.

You need:

1. Copy of you marriage licence. If you got married outside China I guess they might need a notorized version? Also bring the original marriage licence
2. Your passport and copy of picture page, better also bring your old passport and copy
3. Invitation letter from your husband in Chinese. Should mention your name, passport number his Chinese ID number and where you will be staying in China.
4. Copy of your husband's Chinese ID card
5. One photo with light background
6. Standard Chinese visa application form. Choose "visiting family relatives for less than 180 days/short stay". For number of entries tick "other" and write "2 year/multi entry/180 days" Not sure they will give you 180 days but you should write it anyway. I applied in Hong Kong and in 2014 they gave me 180 days but this time just 90.

Hi Samantha, reading your post again, just want to clarify: To keep it simple, just have your husband do the invitation letter. They won't know whether he's living in China or Singapore so no need to get anything from his family.

Do take note that you need to submit a copy of your hubby Chinese ID card, they don't need his Chinese passport.
