I am flying in from singapore for 72 hours to visit Disneyland in Shanghai.

Tina, if you will fly back to Singapore directly, you won’t be able to enjoy the 72 hour free transit.
However, if you hold Singaporean passport, you can enter PRC freely for a stay of not more than 15 days, and then it won’t be a problem. No entry permit will be required.
