Ok, I am American citizen. Marrying a guy in China.

My question is that I have a S2 visa, after I entered China, then I'm gonna apply for the resident permit, do you know to have a S2 type can I work in China? Once we get married, I will be live with my husband, and I'm still a US citizen though.
