About:China Customs Declaration

How much duty tax for foreign parcel; value 4,000-5,000 RMB?

I'm expecting a delivery of a foreign product I purchased online a few months ago, from the U.S., through a small boutique music instrument maker. The value of item itself is between 4,000 and 5,000 RMB. It is a type of amp device for guitar, and has interchangeable voltage for all countries. How much is VAT/duties for this value range, on average?

So how much should I expect to pay up front when signing the customs and VAT forms at post office, here in China?

As I know, the tax is based on the purchasing price of the products and the rate of the stereo equipment is 30%.

I see. However this is a musical instrument device, and it is not built as stereo (true stereo, anyway). Would this simple reverberation device be still considered stereo equipment? Its hard to decipher the regulations and how certain things are categorized.
