How to apply for Chinese Tourism L visa from US

We are planning to visit China with multiple entries (Beijing and shanghai), how do I apply for the entry permit?

Hi Catherine, if you will visit PRC for multiple times, I advise you to apply for the 12-month or 10-year L type entry permit. The cost is the same as that for a singe entry, 140 dollars in total. First, you need to prepare your passport, a copy of its data page, a filled-out application form affixed with your recently-taken photo, and round-trip tickets and hotel reservations. Then go to the embassy or consulate to submit your application.

We are going to Beijing 10/13, then to Shanghai on 10/17 to catch our cruise, that leaves for Taiwan; which means we are only in China for 4 days do we need a visa if our stay is less than 7 days?

Yes, you need to apply for a visa because you will stay in both Beijing and Shanghai.
