short visit to guangzhou

Question

I am traveling to Hong Kong for a week but I want to visit a friend in Guangzhou during 2-3 days within this trip. Can I apply this 72 hrs visa in this case? I will buy a return ticket Hong Kong-guanzhou-Hong Kong with a duration of less than 72 hrs.

Maria, you don't qualify for the 72h free transit because you don't fly onward from Guangzhou to a third country. My advice is that you can apply for the Shenzhen 5-day VOA at Luohu Border and ask your friend to go there to meet you.
