EU passport holders (non-Japanese residents): Apply for Chinese tourist visa in Fukuoka?

Hello,

We are two people (Finnish and Belgian), in the middle of a one-year trip through Asia, looking for up-to-date information regarding hot to get a Chinese tourist L type at the consulate in Fukuoka, alternatively Nagasaki. As we don't speak neither Chinese or Japanese we are struggling to get information from the consulates themselves by phone.

We are tourists in Japan, not residents, and have a 90-day landing permit. Is it still so that we need to apply through an agency to get a Chinese entry permit? Not directly at the consulate? (I understood from another forum that this rule has been changing, and I'm uncertain what is the current actual status.) If so, what agency?

Grateful for any help you could give!

Kind regards,
Eva

Eva, currently, you should apply for it from the CVASC in Japan. If you are in Fukuoka or Nagasaki, you can apply for it from the CVASC in Tokyo and Nagoya. You can apply for it on your own.
