About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

am I eligible for a 72-hour visa free transit in Beijing?

I am asking the same question again, just to make sure the answer corresponds to my exact situation...

Flying from Vientiane, Laos - on 02/12/16. Would like to stop in Beijing for the weekend before flying back home to Paris (05/12/16).
China Eastern flight (Vientiane --> Beijing) has me change planes in Kunming ChangShui (China) + I would be booking my flight onwards to Paris with a different plane company.

The first time, I forgot to say that before Laos, I will have been staying in Thailand.

Exact traveling itinerary : France (where I come from) then Thailand for two months (where I am now), Laos for three weeks or so, 72-hour transit in Beijing back to France...

So, taking all this into consideration, am I eligible for a 72-hour visa free transit in Beijing?

And if not, could you please tell me why? (Just for me to know...if it's because I would be changing planes in a Chinese airport before reaching Beijing, I can maybe find a different itinerary; if it's because I would have been to Thailand before Laos, there's nothing I can do about it, and I would just have to give up on the idea^^)

Thanks in advance for your help!

You are not eligible for the 72h twov cause you can´t have 2 stops in 2 chinese cities when you wanna use the 72h.

Thank you Thomas. One last question : if I find a way to get to Beijing without having to change planes in an other Chinese airport before, will I be able to get the 72-hour visa free transit?

Yes if you don´t have another stop in a chinese city, you are eligible for the 72h twov.

Otherwise if you have multi stops in China you don´t need a visa if your transit is under 24h.
If the transit is longer as 24h you have to apply for a visa.

It´s no problem.
If you have a flight from Laos to Beijing to Paris with no other stop in a chinese city, you´re totally fine with the 72h twov.
It´s just important that the country you came from is different to the one you are going to and there´s no other stop in China if you wanna use the 72h twov.
