About:Beijing Capital Airport Express Train

Fastest way from PEK to Beijing West Rail Station

My international flight arrives PEK at 14:15. I have purchased a train ticket that leaves West Rail Station at 17:31. That does not give me a lot of time I am afraid. Any suggestions on fastest way and do you think I have enough time to catch that train?

Rail and subway will be the only way to ensure you make it. Take the Beijing Airport Express Train to Dongzhimen, transfer to Line 2 Subway (you'll need a separate ticket if you don't have a transportation smart card) to Jiangoumen and transfer to Line 1 Subway. Take Line 1 to Military Museum and transfer to Line 7 to the West Train Station (just one stop). Three transfers is a lot, I know, and you will have to take great care to know which direction to go at each transfer, but it is doable in about 2 hours.

A taxi will be between 2 hours and 4 hours.

Be careful at West Station - it is old, a little dirty and in a poorer part of Beijing than other stations - pick pockets abound.

Sorry Mike, I meant Line 9, not Line 7 for the last short leg. And when I told you 2 hours, that is assuming a little time at each transfer for bewilderment. If you are savvy, and move through quickly, you could shave 20 minutes off that number.
