how can i apply for visa if i don,t know anyone in china

I work with UN in a foreign country, I intend spending my holidays in China and also to buy some items. The places of visit will include Guangzhou and possibly Bingeing. I do not know anyone who can give me an invitation. What kind of visa should I apply for and how do I do that..

Majesty, maybe you can try to apply for a tourist L type entry permit for PRC to visit and buy some items. You can ask a travel agency to get the invitation letter for you and then prepare these documents including your passport and its copy, a completed application form attached with a passport-style photo, an introduction letter from yourself or your company, the invitation letter of a duly authorized unit, round trip air tickets and hotel reservation, as well as your recent 4-month bank statement. Afterwards, submit the application to the embassy of PRC to apply for the L type.
