About:China Private Visit Visa

I am working in Shantou and and want my wife and son to accompany me

I work at Shantou University and have Z type and Residence permit which is valid for next two years. I want my wife and son to accompany me for 2 years.
Can I invite them myself or need to get an invitation letter for them from my University Office? My wife will not work here but my Son will study in a Private School.
Do I need to submit my Bank account statement also while for their VISA?
Also, if they come to China on S2 type for 5 months and want to stay longer thereafter, can S2 type be converted to S1 type?

Pradeep, you can invite them yourself and don’t need to get invitation letter from the university office.
The bank account statement is not required when you apply S type for them.
It is possible for them to convert the S2 type to S1 type after entering PRC.
