About:China Visa

We are suppose to leave October 3 for Shanghai enjoy 5 days

and get on our cruise to South Korea and Japan. Do we need visa?

If the last country you come from is not South Korea or Japan, you can enjoy the 144 hour free transit in Shanghai and then no entry permit is needed.
