Can I withdraw money with my foreign Maestro Card in China

Hi there,

I have a problem.I wish to withdraw money from an ATM machine in China using my foreign (Swiss) Maestro Card, but I didn't succeed so far.
I tried several Bank's ATM machine where there was the Maestro logo, such as Bank of China, ICBC, HSBC.
The pin of my card is 6 digits.
I already contacted the Swiss bank and they told me that they found everything okay at their side.
Could someone maybe help me what could be the problem?

Did you open the service for withdrawing money abroad before leaving your country? If not, you cannot withdraw money in PRC. Or, you may go to some large banks to see if you can withdraw money from the counters.

Many thanks for your response.
Yes, I did open my Maestro Bank Card for withdrawal that's why I don't really understand where the problem is and the Bank in Switzerland told me that they found everything okay at their side.
