Hi I would like to visit Shenzhen for 2 days I will be travelling from Hong Kong via lor Wu Do I simply turn up at Shenzhen immigration and pay the one hundred and sixty rm fee

Yes, you can turn up at Lo Wu passport, pay the fees and then apply for the VOA. However, I remember that the application fee for UK passport holders is around CNY 300.
