visa for romanian traveling to shanghai

Hello, I am a romanian citizen, living in New Mexico, USA, I would like to travel to China for 7 days. Do I need to aplly for the visa at an embassy in the US in person? Or can I do that online or per mail? Can I travel in September if py passport expires in December? Thank you

Raluca, you cannot do that online or by mail. You can go there to submit the application in person or ask your friend to submit it for you.If you haven’t applied for a visa, I’m afraid you cannot travel in December with your current passport because your passport should have a remaining validity of at least 6 months when you apply for the visa.
