About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

I am going to attend an international conference in Oct. But i have some problems in Visa.

Do i need a letter from Chinese govt to get an entry permit. Actually i am not coming to china as a student nor for business purposes. I think i may get tourist entry permit. So what can i do. I went to chinese ambassy but they asked me for a letter to chinese govt. Is it must needed. I have hotel booking.

Asad, based on what I know, you cannot apply for individual Chinese tourist L type. So you are advised to apply for an F type for the international conference. You can ask the conference to get an invitation letter from Chinese government for you. You also need to provide an introduction letter from your company.

Dear tank you for your reply. I contacted to the conference for chinese govt invitation letter but they send an invitation letter from their conference comittee by DHL. But they did not gave me the invitation letter from chinese govt. Is there any problem?
