About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Looking to fly from Vancouver to Ho Chi Minh (Vietnam) with 2 stops in China,

17hrs in Shanghai, then 23hrs in Kunming. Can I do this visa free?

You cannot do that without entry permit. You need to apply for a transit G type or tourist L type in advance.
