Transfer from T1 to T2 at PVG

How much time is needed to transfer from a flight on China Eastern Airlines arriving at T1 to catch a flight on American Airlines to Chicago departing from T2. Are the terminals connected? Are there shuttle buses? Do you have to go through immigration or customs checks?
