Malaysian required Visa for Sanya for 8 hours visit as part of a Cruise itinerary ?

I am a Malaysian holding a Malaysia passport. I will be in Sanya as part of a cruise itinerary in Nov 2016. The stopover is about 8 hours. Do I need an entry permit for this short brief visit ? Is it possible to obtain VOA in Sanya for such short visit ?

If the cruise will head to a third country or region instead of the last one you came from, you may be able to use the 24 hour direct transit in Sanya. You can inquire about that by contacting with the cruise company.
It’s possible for you to get VOA there.
