We plan to visit Xian next month, this is my first time to go there. Do we need a guide or only a driver with basic English to show us around?

Most of the drivers in China do not speak English, so I think it is necessary to have an English-speaking guide to show you around, especially for first time travelers. A guide will also help you to have a better understanding of the sites you are going to visit.
