do i need a visa to check into a shanghai hotel while im on a 24 hour layover

I am flying R/T to SEOUL, with a 12 hour layover in Shanghai [pvg}.I want to go to shanghai disney during that time. Then on my return flight home I have a 24 hour layover and have booked a hotel room at shanghai Disney. Can i apply for atravel permit at PVG airport? Also i heard i need to have an entry permit to check into the hotel. Is this true

Jeannete, you can enjoy the 24 hour direct transit for both legs of your trip. You can apply for a temporary stay permit at the immigration office and then you can leave the airport for sightseeing in the city or saying at a hotel. The stay permit is free of charge.
