About:China Visa Application Procedure and Fee

We plan to travel to China in November. We want to exit China via the Trans-Siberian

and we can not buy these tickets until we arrive in Beijing (otherwise it's three times the price to buy online). Will they still process our visa even though I can not show an existing ticket? I did provide this information in my application. Also is it really necessary to pre-book hotels? Not everyone wants to travel on a package and pre-booked itinerary...

Hannah, you can try to apply for it and it may not be that strict. Of course, you can ask the travel agency to book a flight ticket for you to apply for the entry permit. After you get the entry permit, you can refund the air ticket.
The hotel reservation is necessary if you cannot provide an invitation letter.
