About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hainan Island

I want to fly from BKK to Guangzhou to Australia with a 2 day side trip to Hainan (Haikou). Is this possible under the 72 hour visa?

Hainan don´t belong to Guangdong as it´s another province.
With the 72h twov at Guangzhou you just can travel within Guangdong.
