About:China Work Visa

i'm applying for a tourist permit for china and will convert it to Z visa. Is it legal to do so?

my company wants me to visit china on L type and they are saying that they will convert it after i reach China mainland.

I'm concerned as China is a strict country. Is it wrong to make a visit like this or am i fine?

Surrender, it is legal to do that. But usually, it is not that easy to convert an L type to a work Z type. If possible, you’d better apply for the work Z type in your home country in the first place.
