About:China Work Visa

Z Visa - Shanghai

I have been accepted to teach English at Hampson training centre in Shanghai, and accordingly need to apply for my z type. I do not yet have two years post graduate work experience, but understood this could be relaxed where a Foreign Expert Certificate can be obtained.

I was told that as the centre is based in Beijing, with one of their sub-branches being in Shanghai, the training centre cannot get the FEC directly in Shanghai. To this end I was told it is okay for me to apply for the working Z type in Beijing (where they can obtain the Foreign Expert Certificate) but still work in Shanghai.

I would be grateful for clarification on whether this is actually a permissible means of obtaining the z type to work in Shanghai.

AA, you can apply for the work Z type in your home country. After entering PRC, you can go to Shanghai to work there. I don’t think there will be any problem.
