About:China Visa Entries / Validity / Duration of Stay

I am currently in the US but I have a work (Z) which expires on September 10th.

Can I arrive in Shanghai on September 9th and still be allowed to enter the country? I will start the process of renewing my Z type remotely through a visa agent in Shanghai, perhaps they can send me documents proving that I've started the the renewal application and I can show this at the airport??? Or will I be denied entry if there is only one day left on my visa?

Awesta, I’m afraid it’s too risky. I cannot assure if you will be allowed to enter PRC on that Z type. Usually, you should renew your residence permit 30 days earlier before it expires, so if you submit the renewal application to the exit and entry administration of the local PSB within 30 days prior to its expiry date, you will be allowed to re-enter.

I usually use an agent in Shanghai to help me with my Z type, do you think if they provide some kind of form/evidence proving that I have already applied for my visa renewal and am in the process of getting it that I can show that to immigration and they will let me in? Thanks
