renewal of chinese id card

hello, i am living in pakistan. my chinese id card is going to expire after 2 months. can i renew here from china embassy in islamabas

Sorry, you can't renew your Chinese ID card in overseas embassies. You can only renew it at the police station where your hukou is registered at.
