Do they cancel Q1 Family Reunion type if I want to apply for Z type to work ?

Hi there I am currently on Family Reunion type (Q1 2years Residence Permit)..I have never worked in PRC before..But now I would like to work and found employment with a company that can offer me Employment work permit etc..

My question is do they cancel my current Q1 Family Reunion Residence Permit/Visa to obtain Work Permit/Z type???
And secondly, my current Q1 Family Reunion RP is multiple-entry..And I heard Z type/Work Permit is only Single-entry??
Kindly calrify me on this..

Once you get a work Z type, your family Q1 type will be voided.
The work Z type is for single entry, but you will need to apply for a temporary residence permit when you get the work Z type and the residence permit can allow you to enter and exit PRC for multiple times within its validity.

Hi Howard, thank you for the information.Do you mind telling me the procedure to apply for a temporary residence? Do I have to go through submitting documents etc again??

Hi Howard, one more thing; I am already living in China on Q1 RP.So do I have to leave the country to apply for Z type or Can I apply from within China???

After you get the work Z type, you can go to the exit and entry administration of the local PSB to change the purpose of stay on your previous temporary residence permit. Or you can submit all the documents again and apply for a new temporary residence permit.
You can try to change the Q1 type to work Z type at the local PSB. You should first prepare all the required documents for work Z type and then submit the application to the exit and entry administration to convert the Q1 type to Z type.
