my chinese student x type is expiring along with my mexican passport in october.

Question

I am planning to renew my Mexican passport now that I am in Mexico and renew my visa as soon as I get to China. Is it possible to enter PRC using my new passport and my X type which is attached to my old passport?

Do you hold an X1 type and and a residence permit? If yes, you can use both passports and your X type to enter. If it's an X2 type, only if it's a multiple entry one, you can enter with it.
