About:China Visa on Arrival

Visiting, but not in transit.

Hi I want to visit Shanghai for a long weekend. I am a resident of South Korea and citizen of USA. It is less than 144 hours, but I won't be in transit, just to and from Shanghai. Do I need to apply for a visa?

Alexi, to be eligible for the 144hrs free transit, you have to take a one-way trip and stop over HK. If you from a country to Shanghai and then back to the same country, you can't enjoy it.
