Chinese Visa for USA citizen in Ukraine

Hi. I have been living in China for the past 8 years on a Work Permit (Z type and residency permit), and have travelled to PRC many times prior to that on both tourist and business types. This will expire in one month and I will not be able to renew. By coincidence, I will be traveling in Ukraine for two weeks when my current visa/permit expires.

Can I apply for a multi-entry Business M type while in Kiev? About how long would this take? What documents/information needs to be submitted with the application?

Rex, it’s possible for you to apply for a business M type in Kiev, but it’s not likely for you to get multiple entries.
After you submit the application, usually, 4 working days are needed to process it.
You need to submit those documents including your passport and its copy, the application form attached with a passport-style photo, your valid entry permit for Ukraine, and an invitation letter from your business partner in PR as well as other documents required by the consular officers.

Hello Alec,

Thanks for that. Often getting a multiple entry can be difficult, but I have successfully applied for multi-entry before.

The chart (above, on this page) shows the pricing for double and multiple entry for citizens of other countries (non-Ukranians), so it seems they are available.

Would you recommend trying for a multi-entry tourist visa instead? You mention "other documents required" ... do you know what those might be? In the past, it has been pretty straightforward when I've applied from America, but I know that consulates in different locations often use/have different rules.

Dear, the reason why I said it's difficult to get multiple entries is because you will apply for it in a third country.
You can try to apply for multiple-entry L type, but I cannot assure if you can get multiple-entry one. Just have a try.
To be honest, I’m not sure that what documents the consular officers may require you to provide. It is hard to say.
