how to apply for a parent long period stay by the children in china?

If a parent age abt 99 years whom no longer a China ciyizen, how can he apply to have long term with his children where they are residing  in Hainan?

Ernest, if you don’t live in PRC for 5 years in a row, you cannot apply for the permanent residence permit to live with your children in PRC. You can only apply for the Q type if your children are Chinese citizens and then live with them by getting a temporary residence permit which will allow you to stay for more than 180 days in PRC and you can extend it for longer before it expires.
