About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Is it correct that we can not use the free visa on arrival

if we fly via Beijing (only change of plane in Beijing) to Shanghai ?

Andre, because you will change flight inside PRC, you cannot enjoy the free transit. If you have valid entry permit for PRC, you can use it to travel around PRC.

If your transit is under 24th you don't need any entry permit if you have multi stops in China.
But it doesn't work for the 72/144 h twov.
In this case you have to apply for an entry permit.
In both cases you must fly country A - China - country B.
