help work permit

I am currently processing my work permit in Hangzhou to get working Z type. I am in Hong kong at the moment since my entry permit expired. However i would like to go to PRC to see my dog (since i have been living and working there for 7 years in a different job). Can i apply for a tourist L type? or will this affect my work permit and work Z type process... I just want to stay in PRC for 30 days and then when my papers are ready; i will go back to canada to apply for my work Z type.

Jess, you can apply for a tourist L type to enter mainland PRC. After you get the work permit and other relevant documents, you can try to convert your L type to work Z type at the local PSB. Or you can go back to your home country to apply for the work Z type.
