About:Chinese Consulate in New York

Does each person who is applying for a visa have to show up in person?

I am traveling with my mother to China. I was planning on bringing her passport and paperwork with me to file for her in addition to my own application. Is this allowed- or does each applicant have to appear in person to apply for a tourist L type at the consulate?

Kim, the applicant does not have to appear in person so you can file the application for your mom.
