About:China Visa Application Procedure and Fee

Am I able to use credit card?

If so which ones may I use? If not I must change US to China currency?

You could use your Visa card and Master credit card. I also suggest you exchange some CNY as well, for some small restaurants and shops could not accept credit card. It is quite easy to exchange money in China and the rates will be more favorable. Or you could withdraw CNY from your credit card on the ATMs.
