About:China Visa Renewal and Extension

How, where to extend stay in China with only biometric photocopy of passport. Is it possible?

Need to extend permission to stay in China while I wait for a British settlement visa. Whilst waiting my work Z type has run out by a week. My Filipina passport is being processed at the British Border Agency and proving difficult to extract. Where and how can I obtain extended permission whilst not in possession of actual passport, only biometric photocopy. Philippine Consulate seem unwiling to issue emergency travel documents unless I cancel existing passport which will invalidate my settlement visa application. Grateful for any advice! In desperation dreading mounting fines and possible trouble with Chinese authorities. Completely misjudged timing of application.

Usually, you should extend it at the exit and entry administration of the local PSB in PRC, but I’m afraid you cannot extend your stay in PRC only with copy of your passport.
You can go to the embassy of UK in PRC to ask for a certificate, and then you can take the certificate and copy of your passport to apply for the extension.
