About:

I need to take a train from Suzhou to Shanghai and then fly out of Pudong airport.

I think the train from Suzhou is 1.5 hours but how long is a shuttle bus ride from the train station to Pudong? Do you also know the approximate cost of the shuttle bus? Can I buy the train ticket in the U.S. or do I have to buy it in Suzhou?

You have several choices:
1.Take an ordinary train from Suzhou Railway Station to SH Railway Station or SH South Railway Station (about 1 hour). Upon arrival, you may take shuttle bus line 5 or 7 to PVG respectively (about 1 hour).

2. Take a high speed train to Hongqiao Railway Station. The trip only takes about 30 minutes. Afterwards, take shuttle bus line 1 to PVG (about 1 hour).

3. Take a direct bus to PVG from Northern Square Bus Station on the northern square of Suzhou Railway Station. The buses are available from 6:00 to 17:30, and the trip takes 2 hours. about The fare is about CNY 84.

In addition, you can book the train ticket through TravelChinaGuide in advance. Their email address is booking@travelchinaguide.com. :)

Thank you so much for the information Henry! I may spend the night near PVG and take the early flight out the next morning. Is it easiest to follow any of your 3 options to PVG and then take a taxi cab from PVG to the hotel (4-5 kilometers away from the airport)?

Thanks again! Robert
