Cruisers stop in Shanghai

Hi, do cruisers going on a Princess cruise ship with a stop in Shanghai (less than 10 hours stay) are exempt from applying for a Visa? Does the 72-hour free transit policy apply to cruisers in general going into one of the exempt cities mentioned in this post?

Scott, Shanghai carries out the 144 hour free transit now. But because you enter by cruise ship and leave by same ship, the cruise company may require you to apply for a transit G type for your 10-hour stop in Shanghai.
