About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Passport expiring in 5 months

Hi,
I'm from the Cech Republik. I have to travel to Shangai (Business trip) in the first August week. My passport is expiring in 5 months and 2 weeks, and I won't get a new pass on time (so no official visa). I' ve heard of this 144 hours-stay possibility...
What do I've to do? Is my passport enough? How can I be sure that at the border I won't have probems?
Thank you

Fed, if you want to use the 144 hour free transit in Shanghai, the validity of your passport doesn’t have to be at least 6 months. So your passport can be used for that. But you need to make sure that you will fly to a third country or region after staying for less than 144 hours in Shanghai.
When you go to the airport and board the plane, if you can provide your passport, and the confirmed air tickets as well as valid entry permit for the third country or region, then you won’t have any problems.
