About:China Visa Exemption

I'm Australian. I'm visiting Sanya on Hainan Island for 9 hrs from a cruise ship. Do I need a visa?

After staying for 9 hours in Sanya, if the cruise ship will head to a third country or region rather than the last one it came from, no entry permit is needed because you can use the 24 hour direct transit.
